About the role

 The General Manager, Quality & Risk is a key member of the TLC Healthcare Leadership team, assuming a key role in assisting to shape the strategic direction of the Quality & Risk department. This role will collaboratively drive the planning, implementation and monitoring of quality, health, safety and environment, and risk management systems across the organisation.

The role is vital to improving service delivery through a clear systems focused approach and by engaging staff at all levels, with quality, safety and risk management. As such, Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with demonstrated senior leadership experience in a residential aged care or healthcare setting. Experience across early learning would also be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Chief Quality and Risk Officer to develop, implement, monitor and review quality management systems, quality governance frameworks and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Assist in management of all Quality, Safety and Risk auditing & accreditation processes relative to the organisation
  • Contribute to TLC Strategic plans with specific responsibility to Quality & Risk Plans and implement tasks & initiatives to ensure delivery of plan commitments
  • Ensure all operations and activities comply with legislative, industry, ethical, government and regulative requirements, and that risks are identified, mitigated and managed
  • Represent and manage organisation relationships with major internal and external stakeholders

Requirements of the role

  • Sound understanding of policy, service delivery, regulatory and or legislative processes
  • Demonstrated experience with healthcare service Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, and Risk Management.
  • Knowledge of current primary health, mental health, acute health, aged care and early learning reforms
  • Ability to identify, anticipate and manage complex issues and problems, developing quality and risk frameworks or plans
  • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading and influencing diverse work teams, monitoring an organisation-wide strategy for service excellence, and partnering with the Executive Team
  • Relative Clinical Qualifications Preferred


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Five (5) years senior-leadership experience supervising aged care/healthcare services across a broad geography
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Current Cleared NDIS Worker screening check or ability to obtain
  • Working with Children Check or ability to obtain
  • Compliance with TLC Vaccination Policy and Procedure, including Covid-19 and Influenza
